Zigbee Device is unavailable

I have two zigbee spots connected behind a normal wall switch (on/off). I need to dim them separately.
Then, after switching them on (by hand) I try to access the spots. Not possible because the app reports the Device is unavailable. In Devleloper tools I see them, but Interviewing times out.
What to do?

Smart lights should always be powered, if you use a mechanical switch to power them on/off you’re going to run into trouble (as you are now).

I understand now, because the mesh network needs to be alive constantly. Thanx for the response.
