Those Blitz sp13 look good. Can they also against bathroom moisture? Because there is my washing machine.
If you reach a relative humidity of 80% in your bathroom depends on many factors. How big is the bathroom? How long is the shower? How hot is the shower? What is the air temperature? Is there a window for ventilation? Is there a ventilation system? Is the bathroom door open when showering?
So no one but you can tell what the relative humidity is in your bathroom.
Suggestion: Please measure the relative humidity.
Well, if your washing machine survives, the Blitz will too I guess
@DirkG Yes, in terms of electricity and bathrooms, you have to pay attention.
It is an elongated shape and the shower is a meters away from wasmachine en glass shielded.
The washing machine has also been doing well in that spot for years.
It is well a nice place to measure humidity,
Iâm curious.
Yes as @Peter_Kawa says there is already a washing machine but I hope that it is better protected than as the socket. Itâs old-fashioned Pull-rope. no idea how in english is ?
Iâve been keeping an eye on the humidity.
And I come to the average that it is at 45%.
With a shower it rises towards 90%, With Aqara sensor which shocked me. I didnât realize it was that high because I thought it was far away from the shower. Humidity comes through the entire room .
So is it better if I take a shower that I put the plug outside the bathroom for a while ?
Washing machine is never on with shower.
Just searched for an in-wall device. If you have enough space behind the socket, this could be an alternative to a plug, but I havenât found any device with 16 A and power measurement.
Maybe you can use the Plugwise Plug with 16 A/3.680 W?
The specification does not specify the maximum humidity. So you donât need to worry (just kidding ).
Maybe you ask Plugwise about it.
I have searched in the app store for outdoor plug and found this one. Itâs only till 3500W but maybe that is enough.

And there is a Homey app for it.
https://homey.app/en-us/app/com.popp/POPP/
But itâs Z-Wave. @rvdeijk asked for Zigbee.
So I assumed that @HuisCHovens was also looking for Zigbee devices too. Or is that not the case, @HuisCHovens?
right @DirkG I responded to that Blitz wolf
I would also like to use.
Wifi with Tuya is also allowed, but I have nothing to do with Zwave here, so I wonât do that. But thanks for thinking with me
Ah, ok, sorry.
But searching for autdoor smart plug was giving some wifi plugs but only without a Homey app.
I did not found it.
@Mike1233 This is good for outside Hombli Slimme stekker voor buiten â Energiemonitor â Timer en Schemaâs -... | bol.com
But i think that the BlitzWolfÂŽ BW-SHP13 ZigBee 3.0 Smart Socket EU 16A 3680W with ZigBee 3.0 Linkage, High-load Rating, Electricity Monitoring, Timing Function and Voice Control also good is.
What happens if there is too much moisture in it ? It dries up to 50% right? and then it works. Or do I really need an outside plug ? Then I look for a built-in plug behind the pull rope box.
Maybe this wone
A dedicated washing machine power switch is most probably on a seperate mains circuit breaker.
That makes it possible to put a power metering device in the electricity box.
F.i. Shelly 3EM - it uses clamps you can put around the brown live wire. Not cheap thoughâŚ
https://shop.shelly.cloud/shelly-3em-wifi-smart-home-automation
This is also an option, and cheaper. But it needs to be connected in between the circuit breaker and the wiring to the washing machineâs switch.

Nice solution again but I think this is going too far to mess around in the metercast. Is the washing machine all alone in a group ? So I have to find that out.
This one, I found yesterday too, but it doesnât have power metering.
Maybe a Shelly 1PM (WiFi)?
Edit: To be sure, please ask an electrician if a short-term relative humidity of about 90% can be a problem for a plug or a in-wall module.
Another nice solution is actually for outside. I think itâs good.
It should be, especially when itâs on a pull/cord switch like this
In the electricity box (meterkast) the breaker should be labeled âWashingmachineâ or something similar
By the way this one looks good https://m.nl.aliexpress.com/item/1005002790324389.html
Yes, thatâs what I mean. And my lights in the bathroom are also switched that way. I take a look in the electrical box once.
But I think Shelly in electricbox is too expensive for a power meter. Iâm going for the outside plug.
The price for a Shelly 1PM is around 12 - 13 ⏠+ shipping (in Germany). Thatâs too expensive for a device you already know that it works?
